I could say that a player still at 40% after 1000 games has spent an awful lot of time banging their head against the wall without improving. Its not impossible, but Im sure many many many players just give up and jump ship. 2000 games if they are playing at high blue, 3000 games at low blue, just to make up for their first 1000 games of mistakes. If a hypothetical player has a win rate of 40% at 1000 games, they would have to play 1000 more games at unicum level just to climb back to 50%. I went from red to green to almost blue in world of tanks with no reset and no unicum friends to teach and carry me, and may well have crept higher if I had kept playing instead of jumping ship for floaty boats. It's not like it's impossible to climb out of the red without a stat reset. (which doesn't seem like that big a deal to me) If anything, having stats from the beginning of time (true facts, time itself did not exist before open beta) is better because without them you can't see past trends and track improvements/setbacks over time. Not sure what the point would be aside from the minor ego boost of having my lifetime stats maybe look as good as my recent stats.
